New source for one of the most known Nirvana shows. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
-Kris Sproul Here's a new FM source of this show. Thiago recently found someone who taped this off the radio years ago. He sent me two tapes, and the two tapes appear to have two different broadcasts of the show. I believe they're the same mix, so I made one SBD #1a and one SBD #1b. This torrent is just SBD #1b. This one is longer, but I think the other one sounds better. Also, this one has some overbearing fake crowd noise that SBD #1a doesn't have.
Sound-wise, it's not bad. The tape has aged a bit, so the audio is a little choppy at times, but it's in stereo, and I'm not sure if I've ever heard this show in stereo before (I didn't check, but if the videos are in stereo, I don't remember them being as stereo as this is). It's not as sterile sounding as the videos, but I'm not sure if this is due to it being a different mix or just the FM mastering. It's not as crisp as SBD #1a.
If anyone finds any cuts I missed, please let me know. I almost missed the tiny cut near the start of "Lithium" in SBD #1a, so there could be more like that.
Big thanks to Thiago for this one!

Another 2 multitracks surfaced, as before sourced from Guitar Hero/Rock Band video games. Read quotes for more information. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
-Chris Blaise While I don't have the exact details, the song is "extracted" by playing it in practice mode with other instruments turned off. It's a lot more time consuming than the previous Rock Band method of extracting the actual multi-track .ogg file from the game. This was possible in Rock Band up until a few months ago when they changed the encryption and the author who wrote the original decryptor is no longer interested in updating the code (he's been talked to by the game producers so there's likely some legal pressure on him).
While Rock Band files are absolutely in lossy files (oggs), I'm not positive about Guitar Hero World Tour. I seem to recall that the download for Death Magnetic was over a gigabyte and had both Guitar Hero WT and III files. And that the III files (only three multitracks for each song) was very small.
However, the FLACs that these were sourced from were from oggs.

Mike Ziegler - Yet another source for this show... Lower quality than AUD #1 and AUD #3. Similiar, maybe slightly better than AUD #2. This taper was standing very close to the AUD #2 taper. As with all recent torrents, the 44.1kHz and 48kHz are both included. If you don't want one or the other, tell your client not to download it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NIRVANA August 25, 1991 Domein Kiewit (Pukkelpop) Hasselt, Belgium SOURCE (AUD #4): unknown > unknown TRANSFER: Nakamichi CR-7A > Hosa RCA cable > LynxONE analog-in > Adobe Audition 3.0 > CD Wave 1.98 > FLAC frontend 1.7.1 GENERATION: ANA(x) > WAV [48kHz] > WAV [44.1kHz] > FLAC [Level 8] LENGTH: 31:50 TRACKS: 01. Mike Ziegler - "Time to elimate another bootleg from our collections. This one sounds better than Before And After The Storm, is higher quality and has a tiny bit more at the beginning, more at the cut in Floyd, and more at the end. Unfortunately it does not sound quite as good as the vinyl Live From The Reading Festival 23 August 1991 so an A/B situation is still needed."
As with all recent torrents, the 44.1kHz and 32kHz are both included. If you don't want one or the other, tell your client not to download it.
