There is information, that the 2nd, upcoming part of popular "Rock Band" game will feature Nirvana's Drain You, what means one more multitrack is very close to surface. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
-cnet.com @ Dan Ackerman We're waiting to get our hands on the new Rock Band 2 hardware Tuesday afternoon, but in the meantime, Harmonix has released the entire set list for the game (or at least the songs that will ship on the game disc--many more will no doubt be released as online downloads).

Sup Pop records, who've released Nirvana's "Bleach", along with many other grunge band's recordings celebrates 20 years with a concert festival at Saturday and Sunday at Marymoor Park. Happy birthday Sub Pop! ____________________________________________________________________________________________ -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
-seattlepi.com Sub Pop's anniversary festival will include a much-anticipated reunion of Green River, which disbanded in 1988. Band members include, from left to right, Mark Arm, Bruce Fairweather, Jeff Ament, Steve Turner, Alex Shumway and Stone Gossard.
The feisty label that launched Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney and other famous Northwest bands a generation ago is celebrating what Poneman describes as "20 years of not going out of business." Among the label's current successes are The Gutter Twins, Fleet Foxes, Wolf Parade, Iron & Wine and the Grammy-winning musical comedy duo, Flight of the Conchords. Nearly two dozen bands from Sub Pop's past and present rosters will perform at SP20, a concert festival Saturday and Sunday at Marymoor Park. Among the most anticipated groups is Green River, a seminal grunge band that reunites Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament (now of Pearl Jam) with Mark Arm and Steve Turner (of Mudhoney) and Bruce Fairweather and Alex Shumway. Nearly all of the proceeds from the event will go to charities of the bands' choosing, among them Farm Sanctuary (Beachwood Sparks), The Bridge School (Grand Archives) and Red Cross International Response Fund (Flight of the Conchords).
New show surfaced, check Kris Sproul's quote for more info. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
-Kris Sproul Here's a new show for you to enjoy, and it's the first we've ever gotten from this era (early 89). Big thanks to the person who sent me the recording.
The recording is assumed to be incomplete, as it has cuts between almost every song, and some obvious songs they should've played are missing. The best I was able to get were MP3 files from an ANA(M)>CDR(1). I might be able to get a copy straight from the CDR (or maybe the master, but I doubt it) down the line, but if so, it will be a while. This is as good as it gets for now. The MP3s don't flow together very well, but I believe they're in the correct order, as this is how they were on the CDR they came from.
We weren't sure about the date being correct at first, since we know Jason was with the band by this point (he appears in 02/10/89 and 02/25/89 photos) and the person who provided the recording didn't think there was a second guitarist. However, you can clearly hear two guitars at a few points on the recording, such as during some of "Sifting."
I believe this is also the first live performance we have of "About A Girl."

-David Willhauk Big thanks to the taper! This was transferred on a standalone (settings on hi-quality) and is as good as it gets since he can't give out the actual VHS. Of course a big upgrade over the youtube FLVs, and more complete at the start and the end. Sound is good, but has crackling noises throughout the tape. DVD coming next! ****************
