Pretty simple, just list albums that have been critically praised. but you didnt like, for me:

Beck - Sea Change, found it really boring not a folk person, but I love Odelay and Mellow Gold
Combat Rock - The Clash, only 1 good song - know your rights, gave London calling another chance and i enjoyed it
Nevermind The Bollocks - Sex pistols over rated, shite
Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge - didn't excite me SBPES was good
Metallica - Pretty much all of their albums, but their live show S&M is quality.


All these albums have some good songs on them, but the albums as a whole IMO are not what they're cracked up to be.

Don't agree on the Vitalogy, Sex Pistols, Mudhoney and Metallica albums, I like all of those.

Here's mine:

Malfunkshun - Return to Olympus, IMO Malfunkshun is the most overrated grunge band there is.

Dark Side of the Moon, don't get me wrong, I love alot of the songs on this album and Pink Floyd in general, but I found quite a few songs on the album that were IMO kinda mediocore, an overrated album, but still amazingly good.

Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight, don't like this album, they used to make good albums, but this one is soooo overrated.

Can't think of anymore right now.

Megadeth is quite good, but too bad its fronted by a douchebag like Dave Mustaine.

you gotta be kidding me. c'mon sandinista just sucks. they spent a while producing it. 36 songs and they all suck. it was supposed to be a masterpiece. god i hate that record.

Malfunkshun are not overated as barely anyone knows about them. IMO James Hetfield is a douche, not Moustaine, and i have not heard Sandinista, but i did download Combat Rock, although have not listened to it either, but i have heard it's their definitive album. Guess i just don't like Punk. Can't say much about EGBDF because it just didn't thrill me, and I'd take Mark Arm's former band Green River over Mudhoney any day. Vitology for me was the start of the slump for Pearl Jam, but the avocado album is pretty good. I'm not saying everyone song between Vs and Riot Act is bad, Rearviewmirror proves that (it's a superb collection), but like the Foo fighters, i just don't like most of their quiete songs.

I agree; Doolittle is overrated: Surfer Rosa rox 10 times more.

Dark Side of The Moon is I think one of the best albums ever.

I hate; HATE One Hot Minute (it must be one of the most bad albums I own).

Locust Abortion Technician - Butthole Surfers (although underground, but overrated by the underground )
Guns 'n Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Green Day - Dookie (massively overrated I think, I like 2 or 3 songs from it; it's not a 'bible' to me like for some artists today)

Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie...

Underrated:
Velvet Underground - VU & Nico (best album in history of mankind?)

Don't like surfer rosa that much, but doolittle, come on pilgrim and bossanova are quality. Trompe le monde is ok but complete b sides is shit. Pixies at the BBC is also good.

AC/DC - Back In Black Please don't kill me for saying this. I really like this album, BUT a few songs are kinda mediocre, I personally like the early stuff weith Bon, guitar sounds are so awesome and noisy.

Any Metallica after Cliff Burton is overrated in my books.

With the lights out is overrated, some good songs, but as Dark Chili always says, shit mastering by Bob Ludwig, my hero.

My favorite Pixies album is "Bossanova" followed by "Surfer Rosa".
First album I found by them, immediately fell in love. First I thought: Wow, this sounds fucking strange!
But it rocked straight into my blood.


Worst albums I bought, or albums I was totally disappointed by:
- 20 Fingers feat. Gilette - On The Attack --- wanted to have it over a decade, once I got it I noticed it's not that great
- Mark'Oh - Mark'Oh --- I really liked his early 90s stuff... but this comeback album sucked and made me hate him as a musician
- The Early Tapes Of The Beatles --- some crappy cd with 8 crappy songs that do not even sound like their usual goodness
- Backstreet Boys debut --- Yeah, I loved their first singles back then... but this album was a waste of money
- Michael Jackson - On The Dancefloor History in the mix ------ worst album he ever released, worse than Invincible
- Silverchair - Neon Ballroom --- Kinda disappointing when I got it, but then I started liking at least half of the album, some good songs

That's all for now...

Well, but to be honest... I haven't bought too many CDs in my life.
Downloading rocks much more... if you don't like it, you can delete it, and haven't wasted your money.

It's not a bad album, but it's too different from their previous 4. And as someone I know pointed out when it came out that Green Day had sold out for a 2nd time, the first being the release of Dookie, thought it was kinda funny.

The funny thing is if you ask a purist Nirvana fan, what their favourite songs is, they won't say teen spirit. And yes both are overated, when you consider how much praise, their 2 other releases got, in my opinion Bleach and In Utero didn't get as much press as they derved.

In Utero's the best album, imho.

I think ppl are confusing overrated with over-played or over-exposed.
Overrated means ppl said it was better than it actually was. I don't think that is the case with Nevermind, and I certianly don't think SLTS is overrated. It is what it is & did what it did. An excellent song that changed pop culture.

I completely agree with you: come on, it doesn't mean you're a hardcore nirvana fan you have to hate 'the song' SLTS; the hype okay, that's a fact.
But SLTS is just one of the best songs ever made; even Kurt and Nirvana thought so (at least in the first half of 1991).
I think SLTS is even my favourite nirvana song, although I'm already sick of hearing it so what's 'favourite' anyway.

And for Dark Side of The Moon; why do you think it's overrated?:I think it's a brilliant concept album with great songs (Time, great gig in the sky, money, Breathe); it's my favourite pink floyd album; second is Piper...
